Paint...brush...curl!

I had a card request for a silver anniversary for a hairdresser and a painter. I used a CC Designs stamp, the little dog is from Tiddly Inks and I made background strips using a mix of images to suit each person.
The background paper is from my Boofle Cd. The hearts were punched in silver mirri.
I used pink fibre from crafty ribbons for the ribbon tags.
They have been coloured with promakers. Not sure if I am happy with the finished product but its been collected so no time to change anything.
I would like to enter this into
Anyone for Anya - followed their sketch
Craft your passion - power of 3 (3 ribbon tags and stables)
Shopping our Stash - sketch it (sketch from Anyone for Anya)

I  bought a Soup Maker yesterday and made the first soup for lunch. It had carrots, leeks, onions, garlic and black pepper. Was nice enough, just a bit bland. So if any one out there has a favourite combination for a soup I would love to know what it is as I will be experimenting with different flavours over the next week.

A soup maker? That sounds wonderful! I mixed kale, 15 bean variety (pre-soaked), carrots and very thin slices of turkey kielbasa, small shrimp, diced tomato, portabella mushroom diced and onion with garlic powder, sea salt and pepper...yummy!

Thank you for the very sweet comment you left Pinky and how cool is your card! Hair dryers on the left and paint brushes on the right...the perfect blend of the two. Nicely done :)
hugs,
Lisa xx

You do have some different requests and you always come up trumps, fab card. I didn't know you could buy a soupmaker, love homeamde soup. Is it easier than using a food processor?

You always manage to fulfil your requests perfectly. Love the image and colours.
I make tomato soup. Big tin chopped toms, 2 rashers bacon, I onion and pint & half of beef stock, salt & pepper.

What a brilliant card for a painter and a hairdresser! Isn't it great to be able to make something so personal for the recipients? Love it!

Carrot and Coriander or Ginger makes a good soup (onion, maybe a potato, carrots, ground coriander or grated ginger root, sweat 5 mins in butter or oil, add stock or water, simmer till done, blend.) Or curried parsnip - same recipe substituting curry powder for the spices and parsnips for the carrots. Add cream to either! Yummy!

Such a clever card to combine both their occupations and it's a lovely image too.
I make lots of soup in the winter months and usually chuck a vegetable Oxo in for extra flavour. Also,I've just discovered this brilliant seasoning from Lakeland. Expensive but you only need a tiny pinch to get quite a bit of added flavour. Basically I think it is sea salt and herbs but it works a treat, even in my pasta dishes.

Gorgeous card Pinky. Love the image and fab backing papers.

My favourite soup is one my mother-in-law used to make. Cress Soup. You need 1 large potato, 2 large carrots, 1 large onion, a bag of watercress, 2 chicken stock cubes dissolved in half pint of water, salt & pepper to taste. I cook it all in a pyrex dish in the microwave for 20 minutes, take it out, give it a stir, add 5ml of double cream, mic for 1 more minute, then put it in the blender until smooth - delicious.

Hi Pinky, I hate requests for cards cos I always feel it won't be just what they wanted but you always seem to come up trumps with yours. Just Perfect! Love it.
My lot love Celery and bacon, add leeks potato and celery, knob of butter and bay leaf, soften. add vegetable stock and pre cooked bacon, simmer till cooked, remove bay leaf, blend, then add milk and single cream and season to taste, yummy.
