Friday already, where on earth did the week go!! I had some lovely visitors yesterday. My sister and her daughter who live in England are over for a visit. It was so lovely to see them again:)

Was going to say good morning and noticed its after 12 already. Have been to the doctor's this morning as I took a pretty bad asthma attack last night and feel a lot off colour today. He has put me on an antibiotic as the infection I had from Christmas hadn't fully cleared up, so hopefully I will recover soon. My chest is so sore after the episode last night though:(

This is my second week as Guest Designer with The Crafty Pad and today the challenge is Let's see something for the Boys! Debbie gave me this gorgeous 10 Pin Bowling image which I have coloured with my promarkers. I matted it onto the scallop circle which I coloured to match. The card itself has been embossed using my circles embossing folder. I finished with the word strike made up from glittered letters. I coloured a green circle to match and popped it behind one of the letters.

What a morning I have had!! I had promised my son I would pick him up at the golf course then take him to his work. Of course I got the times wrong, arrived at the golf course which is a 20 minute drive only to find I was an hour early. So I just had to sit there and twiddle my thumbs knowing I had so much to do at home, infuriating but my own fault:( Anyway I finally got back and finished this card off just in time for the challenge at Lili's Little Fairies:)

I had promised my daughter last year that I would do her an album of her University experiences, well the ones we can talk about lol. But unfortunately I never got started so here I am today. Be gentle, this is the first page I have done in ages and am a bit out of kilter. I used the lovely scrapmap from Creative Craft World as my incentive. The photo is of Searlait on the day she was leaving home. The back kitchen was stuff to the gills with all the stuff she wanted to bring including lot of food to keep her going till she got her bearings. It was such a sad day and her little face (which was trying to be brave) says it all:(

Papers are from Laura Ashley, (sorry I went with the grey now) red paper from my stash, the sticky ribbons I have had for over a year or more. The lovely loopy flower is from Laurie:) matched perfectly. I punched some leaves out of newsprint and made some heart diecuts. Hopefully this is the first of many.

Christmas Club Challenge 2

Its time for our 2nd card of the year at the Christmas club and this time it was Keryn's turn to challenge us. Keryn demanded that we keep our cards as flat as possible, so no layers, ribbons, pearls etc. That was a hard one for me lol. I bought myself some gorgeous new darcy images so couldn't wait to get playing. I printed her on the card but then printed her again on card suitable for colouring as I didn't want the colours seeping through. I coloured and cut her and stuck her on top of the printed image. The sentiment is a rub on and I stamped some snowflakes in blue and added the tiniest bit of glitter, not bumpy at all Keryn:0 I even kept to my resolution of finishing off the inside as well.

Well my scope test was not nice but I am sure glad it is over. They didn't give me anything other than a throat spray so I was gagging and burbing the whole way through it:( The doctor did tell me that I had inflammation and has prescribed a 6 week course of tablets. He also took a biopsy and will get back to me on that one. I will still have to wait to be seen about my gallbladder though:( Thanks to everyone for the lovely wishes yesterday.

I had a request for a card for a lady to give to her sister who sadly she will not see again as she is very ill. So she wanted something very personal that she could send to let her know she was thinking of her. It took me a while to think of something and I finally decided on going with a sentiment on the front and an angel on the inside. What do you think?
The sentiment I found online, the angel is from Daisy Company, the papers are K& Co, love the vintage look to them so added lace and pearls to finish it. The die is from spellbinders which I layered up. I added some flowers from my stash and punched some leaves.

Big day tomorrow eeekkkk! I am finally having my scope test done at 12 am tomorrow! Not looking forward to the procedure at all and am hoping they put me under for it. Also tomorrow we drop our daughter off at the airport for her return to university:( Have so enjoyed the month with her. So it may well be Sunday before I am back on here, all being well.

When I found this gorgeous piece of green organza ribbon in my Crafty Ribbons box I knew I would be using it first lol. I love the breadth of it and the lovely soft colour and I am normally not a green lover but it matched perfectly with my promarkers lol.

Another new year resolution:)

My second new year resolution is to use my scraps rather than just keep them in a box. So as the end of a card making sessions I intend to make tags using the leftover papers and ribbons. I have a few sets of Pennyblack stamps which are pretty small for cards but perfect for tags.

1st Christmas Club card

Well the new year has started and the girls at the Christmas Club at raring to go. Carol has set our first challenge of the new year which is ANYTHING. Oh Baby Baby!

Its time for our first challenge of the new year over at LADYBUG CRAFTS INK and this time round we want you to play with all your new stash!! You will also have two whole weeks to join the challenge as we are changing to fortnightly challenges for the time being:)
My new stash is the lovely spellbinders die (one of many) that I got for Christmas. I used one of the gorgeous BABY BABY stamps, coloured with promarkers and glittered. I am coming to the end of my glitter bottle and it spurts out way to much glue at me but I refuse to chuck it till its finished:). The papers are from Me to You spring cd in pink and brown though the brown looks very tan in this photo. I added some stitching round the edges and finished with some hearts and glitter and of course a bow!

hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Santa was good to me and I now have the Grand Calibur and lots of gorgeous dies to go with it:) Unfortunately I still have a pretty bad cold, feeling pretty crap and not a lot of energy. I did have two full days of cooking and entertaining which was pretty exhausting but very enjoyable!! I had a request for a card for a young girl to give to her best friend for Christmas. She wanted a dummy on it somewhere as her friend still has one lol. They are only young and we all have are little comforters, even at my age so who was I to argue!! Anyway I found this dummy charm in my baby stash and it fitted perfectly. Hope she likes it!! I bought a roll of the blue fabric from Ikea the last time I was down for just 70p so had a go at making my own flowers and added some to the border in pleats and tied a bow from it as well. Very pleased with the outcome.

My darling daughter arrived home yesterday and I was so so glad to get a real life hug. Its been 3 months to the day since we had a hug:( We snuggled up on the couch and watched a movie then the house came down with visitors lol. So we had a great old night. Christmas in Ireland

I had a request for a Christmas card for a very special lady who was coming home from Canada to Ireland for Christmas. I spent ages surfing the net trying to get a nice image that would do the job but not be too Irishy so to speak lol. I eventually came on a card I found at CAROL's fabulous blog and it just clicked with me. Carol is on the design team for The Emerald faerie Garden so off I went to check out the images. As it turned out the elves are from Emerald Faerie and the sign post is from Make it crafty so I just had to buy them both. I was totally inspired by Carol's card so want to give her full credit for using the two images together. Don't they work wonderfully!!

I have had a right busy day but well pleased with the amount I have got done. Spent the morning making last minute Christmas cards and finished putting all my inserts in (sigh of relief). I then cleaned, baked some buns and biscuits and back for another round of crafting. This is one of my cards. I decided to colour the image with some metalic pens, not pleased with the finished card at all! Won't be using them again, though I think this image would be easier coloured if it was printed off bigger:( Oh well we learn by our mistakes.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge

Its my turn to pick the challenge this time at CRAFTY RIBBONS and I have chosen

Traditional Christmas Colours!

I am a sucker for red, green, cream/white at Christmas time. I think they evoke memories of my childhood.So we would love to see any kind of Christmas project that uses these colours somewhere.

I made a little gift box using one of the fabulous button boxes from Crafty Ribbons!

I covered it in green and red broad ribbon, the edges were done with this gorgeous new England tree and present ribbon and I finished with a bow using a mix of dotty ribbons and one of the buttons from the button box.

For the Thank You cards I cut strips just wide enough to go inside the box. I used the same ribbon again and stamped Thank You in red ink.

I backed the inside of the card in red to cover the ribbon join and printed off a little insert with a tree and sentiment.

The box could be used to house a little Christmas gift instead of the cards but I thought it would be a nice gift for my m-i-l who likes to send little thank you's after Christmas.

I made this matching gift back using a piece of green kitchen cloth from the pound shop:) I stitched the ribbons in place, used my eyelet tool and threaded some thin green ribbon to tie it closed.

I had a request for a 30th birthday card for a man who, no matter when he goes out, he ends up falling asleep in the strangest places and his nickname is q (which is why I had to change the zzzzz's to qqqqq's lol) he also likes Man United and drinking.
We had serious winds here last night, one gust woke me up from my sleep. I thought the roof was going to come off!! Squirt is probably lying in someone else's garden at this moment lol.

SOTM and challenge!

Our challenge this week at Ladybug Crafts Ink has been chosen by our fabulous Lisa. She wants to see lots of sparkle and snowflakes!

The Design team all got to play with the STAMP OF THE MONTH for December. I coloured my image with promarkers and then sprayed it with spray and sparkle which hasn't shown up so well in either pictures. but in real life its is ubber sparkly!! The papers are from DCWV and The Snowman collection. I cut some snowflakes using a Marianne die and added some card candi which I glittered. I finished the card with gorgeous striped ribbon from Ladybug Crafts Ink and some gems.

Well as its December Kerry has another stamp of the month offer for you. Isn't this just a lovely little image! I really enjoyed colouring it.

We had our first fall of snow last night!! Well it did only last about 5 minutes and the ground was wet so it didn't stay. But we have awoken to a frosty wonderland here today!!

Our December challenge at Sir Stampalot is a Bingo choice board! Which should give you all lots of options and look at the prize that the good people at Sir Stampalot have donated!!

This is the bingo choice. I chose the centre line LACE, FLOWERS and TAGS.

The flower tag is from The Big One cd which has been decoupaged. I stamped the little House mouse image and placed him below the flowers, like he is looking up. I added lots of embellishments including lace, peel off corners, peel off borders, border die from Crafty Sentiments, some lace and some pleated ribbon.

I had a great day yesterday. Hubby was on strike so we headed to Belfast to the rally and put in a day's shopping while we where there. It was freezing but at least it was dry and I got loads of stuff for Christmas from my list, so I am a happy bunny today:)

Well the Craft Fair yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. There were only about 10 tables, the items were really expensive and not to my particular taste. Lots of soaps, candles, knitted shawls and jewellery. I did buy some mixed berry wine (non alcoholic) which you dilute with warm water and you can add wine for a mulled drink.
My card today was an order for a Thank You card. I used the lovely thank you circle I got form the Clip Art Fairy.

Ah is this a cute image or what lol. The only type of mice I can take!! I had a request from a wife for a card for her husband and the husband wants a card for the wife lol. So this is the one for the husband to give to his wife. I went with this cute little Housemouse decoupage sheet. The papers are from HOTP, ribbon from my stash. Sentiment comes with the sheet and the name is in white peel offs.

I have been away with hubby all day shopping, only just got back. We had a lovely day but the weather was wicked, gale force winds and rain!! Boy do I love shopping centres lol. At last we have made a start on our Christmas shopping:)

I had a request for a Christmas card for a lady's 3 grandchildren! I wrecked my brain trying to think of a good image and eventually came up with these. They are older stamps and were released for the summer hence their clothing was a bit summery. So I added sleeves and leggings which I could:) Hope that's allowed:(
I didn't change anything just coloured their arms and legs and added a little cuff line.

The challenge at CRAFTS4ETERNITY this week is make a Christmas decoration!

We have a lovely sponsor this week again...

I decided to try my hand at a rosette decoration. I found this lovely paper in my stash, perfect cause it was double sided so I got two for the price of one so to speak lol.

I cut 2 nestie circles, inked one in what should have been orange but my sponge was not cleaned and it came out brown lol. I stamped the PB monkey and coloured him with promarkers.

I did the same on the other side, turned out grey (good tip...clean up after yourself lol) I stamped a sentiment from SeeD Christmas stamps and added some glitter and stars.

I finished with a lovely piece of orange spotty ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

Time for another challenge at CRAFTY RIBBONS. This week the lovely Bonnie has chosen the theme and she wants to see TAGS! I really enjoyed this challenge as I don't often take time to just play:)

I made the long tag using the gorgeous snowman ribbon which you can find HERE. I embossed some silver mirri with dotty embossing board and finished with a ribbon sentiment which you can find HERE.

The rosette is a first for me and I really enjoyed making it. The ribbon I used is from the New England selection and it worked perfectly with the rosette. I used a sticker mounted on card and finished with a wooden star and a stamped tag sentiment. We have a lovely prize up for grabs this week so hope you all get time to enter.

I had a request for two cards for the same lady for her 40th birthday but they wanted a religious slant on them. I bought myself two lovely angels from Crafts and Me and found a sentiment on google to go with each. This is one of them. The image was coloured, clouds added with chalks then I sprayed the whole thing with sparkle and spray. It looks lovely in real life, not sure if you can really pick up on it here though.

Christmas Club Challenge

This time we have the lovely Clare back, all rearing to go so she set us the challenge of producing a pack of cards using either the same image or same papers. It was a challenge alright but I am so glad for it as I now have another four cards instead of one to add to my Christmas collection:)

This one I went all blues, papers and sentiment from Hot off the Press, Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, Image from Meljens. Border was punched and embossed using MS snowflake border punch. I add two brads to the sentiment.

I went with beige colours for this one. Papers and sentiment from HOTP, image Meljens, ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, two small brads and glitter.

Reds and greens for this one. Items same as above. Border cut with fancy cut scissors.

More of the same, reds, greens and creams. Border cut using ek success border punch.

Thought I wasn't going to get to post today. I have been without internet from Wednesday evening. Turned out to be the wires which we have changed and its now working, fingers crossed:)

I had a request for a card for a Library Bus driver for his 65th birthday. I found the bus on clipart, added the Library wording and then used this little Edwin, which I coloured cut and 3d in front of the bus. Photo not good as I had to take it inside.

Time for another challenge at CRAFTY RIBBONS and this time the theme ANYTHING BUT A CARD was chosen by the lovely Charlotta.

My project for the challenge is a fancy Christmas Box. Over at Crafty Ribbons you can buy button boxes. They come flat packed so just a few folds, no glue and you are away:0 And being flat packed makes they super easy to decorate!

This is how the box looks when put together but still naked:)

For my box I used black buttons, black velvet bling ribbon (I love this ribbon, check it out HERE) and a sheet of silver and white Christmas paper. I lined the inside of the box with matching paper. The ribbon was attached with tacky glue. I made the flower bow from little bits of left over ribbon, folded in half and sealed with the large white button. I stuck lots of black buttons on the snowflakes of the papers.

I am re-entering this in to DP2 Challenge which is to show your favourite Mo card of the year. This was definitely mine. I just loved colouring all these images:)

I had a Christmas card request for three children. One loves ballet, one loves karate and the third had to be a baby in blue with a dummy in his mouth:0 A big ask and it ended up costing me more than I made from the order but I can't resist a challenge lol. The images are all from Mo's Digital Pencil, the baby doesn't come with a dummy so had to draw one in lol.

Christmas club - recycle or freebie

It was Hazel's turn to choose our challenge this fortnight and she asked us to either recycle or use a freebie. I went with both lol. The papers are all from a magazine, the ribbon was recycled from an old card and the happy Christmas ribbon was a left over bit from Crafty Ribbons. I used my Guardian Angel stamp from Sugar Nellie stamps. Added glitter spots to all the snowflakes and lots of glitter to the wings. It has been coloured with promarkers.

Our challenge this month at Sir Stampalot is BLUE AND GREEN! Not a combination I often use but luckily I found these lovely papers which seemed to suit perfectly. I made a thank you card and followed the theme of the dragonfly from the papers.

I had such a brill time last night on our ghostly tour round Belfast. The bus kept conking out when it came to a hill lol, we had someone tell us ghostly stories about different parts of Belfast and then we were guided round a grave yard when a bunch of different dead people proceeded to jump out and scare us out of our skin! I have to say that was a first for me, never would I have dreamt that I would be near a grave yard at night never might being in it on Halloween night!! Brilliant brilliant time lol.

Oh what a day, my white on white photo looks such a weird colour! The skies here are so dark and dreary, perfect for Halloween but not for photography lol. I scanned the image and you can see the difference!

Magical mystical theme!

I spent ages on my colouring of the image and used a photo of this image as my guide coloured by the lovely Crissy Armstrong who is one amazingly talented lady! Don't think I did too badly:)

Our theme this week at Crafts4Eternity is MAGICAL MYSTICAL. I know to most people that probably says fairies or Halloween type cards but if I see another Halloween theme I will scream! Who sends Halloween cards? I know I don't and never will. Nearly every challenge in blog land is Halloween at the minute:( Rant is over now:) So the stubborn streak in me took over and I went with a Christmas angel them, well that is magical and mystical...isn't it?
