Close to nature

Our May challenge is now up and running over at Stamping Sensations and it's all about

 ********Close to Nature********

So many options here, flowers, trees, wild animals and insects, in fact anything associated with the wonders of Nature and the great outdoors which surround us every day.

We are sponsored by
We are thrilled to introduce a new sponsor this month Chocolate Baroque, their wonderful rage of stamps really compliment this months theme so do pop over to their web site and take a look and also watch out for them on Hochanda TV.

Just remember STAMPING must be them main feature of your project!!

For my project I went made an eclipse card using the lovely stamps from Donna Ratcliff. I made the background using spectrum noir watercolours and sparkle pens.
The stamps sets are called Magic Garden, Toadstool Home and Fairy Door.
I cut the wording using my Stampin' Up Letter framelits and cut them about 5 times more in black to add lots of layers behind the letters. This is an 8 x 8'' card.

I look forward to seeing all your CLOSE TO NATURE projects this month.

Dreamy butterflies

4 CC Golden Egg Award

I'm here with my Tutti Designs card today.
As it's been so cold and snowy over here I thought I would cheer myself up
with nice warm colours and pretty butterflies and what better way than using this
gorgeous die

I went with an a5 size card as I wanted to use two strips of my butterfly die.

I cut them out using this lovely pink card (looks a bit darker in photo though).

I made a dreamy background on watercolour card using some watercolour pens and glycerine.

I adhered my two butterfly strips to the background and added a thin strip down each side.

I then stamped a greeting in the centre of the strip, stuck to my main card and
stamped a small sentiment, repeatedly along both sides in matching ink.

I cut my butterfly strip again in white card (twice) but this time I just snipped
the butterflies away from the strip to use separately, shaping the wings to give dimension.

I adhered the white butterflies on top of their co-ordinating pink butterfly.
I then added pearls between the side panel stamping
and finished with a white organza bow.

Hope you like it!

If you like this die then pop over and treat yourself
as it's on offer at the minute!

Items used for my card:
Stamps - See D's birthday words
Inks - Memento rose bud, spectrum noir watercolour pens, glycerine
Embellishments - organza ribbon, pearls

I am entering this into:

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy your weekend.
