Chapter in your life

Friday afternoon, taking a wee break from housework to share one of my makes.
This is my first attempt at making a book card and I am really pleased with the outcome.
It was make for a little boy's Christening Day.

I used lots of dies from various companies:
Marianne, Tonic, Marianne, Tattered Lace,  Spellbinders and a bunch of gorgeous flowers and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Papers are from Daisie Company.
I also used beautiful ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, and lots of pearls.
Hope you like it.

We are having a little birthday tea for my mother-in-law tonight. So I have been cleaning and cooking all afternoon. Was hoping my Grandkids would be here but the poor wee pets are both sick.
Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

Teddy bear Christening

Here with a Christening card today but will be back later with a father's day gift card. The sun was out, oh for about 5 minutes earlier, but the rain is beginning to hit off my craft room window yet again. I have some baking to do later, then some ironing and hopefully more crafting. Hubby is off to play a golf match today so he's happy lol.

Long weekend!!

I have had such a rough weekend but thankfully the outcome was good. A week or so ago I mentioned I had to go for a routine mammogram and they told me I should have the results within 3 weeks. Well I got a letter on Saturday morning asking me to return to hospital for more tests. No mention of why etc just an appointment for today at 5 to 9am. So you can image the weekend I have had, think I will definitely be the biggest loser with the Ladybug girls this week:)
So to cut a long story short, went today, had 4 more tests done over 2 hours and the outcome was a cyst! Its is totally benign which I am so relieved to hear and they are leaving well alone so no surgery either. Phew!

Onto my card. I had a set of 5 christening cards order to make and this is one of them.

Oh baby baby

I know you have all seen this type of card from me before but I got a new baby to use with it this time:) Thanks to Christine aka Nanaseaside who pointed me in the direction of Digi Doodles I found this cute little baby, perfect for Christenings:)
This particular card, along with 2 others were delivered to a place for collection by a lady. Unfortunately she was off sick and her friend said she would take them to her. She took them out to her car, left them on the wall while she got her coat off. Forgot she had left them and drove off! The cards where left outside the building all weekend!! Needless to say they were ruined. One completely disappeared, the other two were damp and warped and so I had to redo them. The poor lady was so annoyed but hey we all do things like that, well I know I do anyway. So it was back to the drawing board, but easy enough to replace them.
 Its one gorgeous day here today and I have spent most of the afternoon in the garden, doesn't look much better but a bit of an improvement!

I really need some more so if anyone has a nice Christening image or stamp that they know of I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of the site:)
The image is a bit lost on this big A4 card so showing a close up so you can see I did actually colour it lol.

Meghan's Christening

Finally have a card to post, have been working away on Holy Communion and confirmation cards but didn't want to bore you with them. So here is a little Christening card. Used lovely gingham papers from Daisy Company, a cute doily from my lovely friend Crafty Chris, gorgeous lace from another lovely friend Tracy (I'm beginning to look like second hand lil lol). The image is from Mo's digital Pencil. I punched the flowers using MS stamp punch, added some ribbon, a cross charm, pink pearls to the flowers. I also added a little ridge of flower soft across the ribbon
really to cover the sticky tape behind the ribbon but like the effect, doesn't show up so well here though.
I am entering this into these challenges;
1. DP2 Challenge - followed the lovely sketch
2. Charisma Cards - monochromatic
3. Tuesday Morning Sketches - soft hues, flowers and ribbon
4. Cute Card Thursday - touchy feely (dotty embossing, ribbon, flowersoft, and lace)

Special little baby

I not working on full cylinders today, must have picked up a virus or something but I had two cards to make for a special little baby whose Christening is on Sunday. Baby Holly was born just after Christmas with a lot of complications and is very ill. The Christening is taking place now as she is stable so if you have any prayers to spare please include little Holly in them. I used 4 of my embossing folders for this, papers are from Daisy Company and the image is mo's coloured with promarkers and copics. The flower is made using my new MS stamp and punch which I bought from Charmed Cards. Its a great little punch with 3 different stamps that are stored into the lid. Hope you are all having a nice St. Paddy's day, might head out for my dinner if I can summon up some energy lol.
I am entering this into these challenges;
1. Sweet Sketch Wednesday- used their great sketch
2. Creative Cottage - flowers
3. Fab and Funky - Use something new (used my new MS stamp and punch flower)
4. Die Cuts r Us - white plus one colour.

Baby Connor

Was a bit stumped today as I wanted to use something different from my usual Christening gown image so when I found this one over at Mo's Digital Pencil I had to have it. Its a lovely little image and is suitable for a boy or a girl, so it will be well used. I cut an oval using an old sizzix cutter and put it through an embossing folder and popped the picture behind it. This is for two challenges;
1. DP2 Challenge - they have a colour challenge (white and blues)
2. Lili of the Valley - followed this perfect sketch.
Image - Mo's Digital Pencil
Medium - copics, stickles, pearl drops
Embellishments - Ribbon, pearls, corners

Crafts4Eternity #37

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Dad's and a quiet prayer for all the Dad's who have been. Time for another lovely sketch over at C4E . Michele is setting more unusual sketches and I love them, wait till you see next weeks lol! For this sketch I used pink card, paper from stash and my embossing dotty folder. The image is from Daisy Company. I added some peel off crosses, ribbon and a little angel charm. Pop over and have a go at the sketch this week, its a really usful one, and get some inspiration from the other DT cards.
