This one is for a priest's birthday. I had treated myself to some Goody Boxes from Craftwork cards and this was from the black and white box.
The sentiment I found on google from a free site. If anyone wants the link I have it.
I punched black paper using MS punch for the flowers, added some card candi and used a nestie shape for the sentiment. I added a gorgeous piece of black velvet ribbon (doesn't show up well in photo but gorgeous in real life). The birthday sentiment came in the goody box.

No patterned papers!

Time for another challenge over at CRAFTY RIBBONS and this time the theme was chosen by the lovely Cebelica and she has asked for
NO PATTERNED PAPERS.
I do love this type of challenge and it worked perfectly for me this time.
The prize this time is
A selection of ribbons (colours/contents may vary from photo)

So well worth entering don't you think?

I have used the gorgeous PINK GINGHAM ribbons for my projects this week which you can find HERE.

I had a commission for a lady whose sister had given birth to beautiful twin girls but sadly one was born sleeping and she wanted me to make a card for both the babies as the Mum was keeping a little memory box. So I made a card for Oonagh and a smaller flat version for baby Aoife, to slip inside the card.

These commissions are always hard as I like to treat the situation very delicately. The Mum of the babies is married to my cousin's son and the whole situation was very very sad.
Little Oonagh will hopefully be released from hospital when her weight picks up. Any prayers would be gratefully accepted.

And another baby!

Hope you aren't tired of my baby cards yet, I have had a right run on them and all for girls!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at
and this time the theme was chosen by the lovely Francesca and its all about
EMBOSSING and TEXTURE

Of course we have a lovely prize up for grabs and this month we are sponsored by
Tonic Studios!

For my card I went with this cute Magnolia Baby stamp. I found some lovely silk fabric which I tucked around the frame for the baby. I added machine stitching and brads to the punched flowers. I used my brand new Tonic Punch and stamp set by the lovely and very talented  Ruth Hamilton, my treat at the craft show where I had the pleasure of meeting Ruth in person.

The image has been coloured with promarkers. I made the large flower with a technique Ruth showed me. This is my first one but I was pretty pleased with it.. I punched and stamped the leaves as well and coloured with promarkers. The smaller flowers are embossed with a dotty folder but you can't see it in the photo.

For those who read my blog you know I was suffering from a sinus infection which I thought was clearing up on Friday. But by Friday evening I was feeling miserable and went to bed early. I woke up on Saturday morning and the left side of my face was all swollen, from my mouth up to my eye!! I took myself off to the emergency doctors. They checked me out and couldn't really explain the swelling other than maybe from the infection! I have a new antibiotic, pain killers and a decongestant to take but my face is still very swollen today. Honestly I am beginning to look like Shrek! Fingers crossed it will clear otherwise I will have to go to hospital and have it investigated. 2013 is definitely not as nice a year as I would like.
